The Mega Drive port of SNK's World Heroes, a fighter through the ages. Colourful, lovely for fans, but cut down from Neo Geo.

Throwing a ninja, a viking, and a time-traveling mad scientist into one ring is the offbeat pitch that gives this SNK brawler its flavor. Special moves rain down, and the deathmatch mode, with its hazard-strewn arenas, piles on a welcome dose of madness. A touch rough around the edges, sure, but its improbable cast and good-natured energy keep it a joy to blow off steam with.

Collector interest

World Heroes, a port of the SNK fighting game released in Asia on the Mega Drive. Its collector interest lies in the rarity of this Asian run, distributed outside the major Western markets, and in the SNK licence's fame among versus fans. The Asia variant, less common than the broader editions, draws collectors crossing SNK fighting with little-distributed regional variants, and rounds out collections devoted to the machine's Asian releases.
