THQ takes care of the ring entrance first: pyrotechnics, giant screen, lit ramp and gestures copied for each wrestler, filmed with camera moves borrowed from the television broadcast. The bout itself keeps that grammar, wide shots for spectacular holds and tight cuts for the closing moments.

With its co-op mode and expanded roster, this entry pushes the wrestling sim even further. Creating your fighters, running your career and facing other players renew the action. That generosity, faithful to the series, offers a lifespan wrestling fans savour.

Is WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 still worth playing in 2026?

A PSP entry in THQ's wrestling simulation, WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 enriches the roster and introduces the Road to WrestleMania mode, a narrative campaign following superstars' paths toward the big event. The polished grappling system, the improved tag matches and the scripted staging strengthen the depth and immersion. The production reaches a good level for the machine.
