Yuke's WWE WrestleMania XIX, the second GameCube entry with an original adventure mode. Decent wrestling, likeable story-mode writing and a generous content load. A real step up from the first, paving the way for Day of Reckoning. Pleasant to revisit.

WWE WrestleMania XIX refines Yuke's handling with new moves and varied modes, in an atmosphere faithful to 2003 WWE. Its strong point is an original adventure mode in which you roam the backstage between matches, a refreshing idea for the time. The grappling system stays solid without reaching the depth of the Day of Reckoning games. Today it will mainly appeal to fans of that period and to those curious about a solo mode that broke from the usual wrestling-game template.
