Collector interest

A tactical RPG by Sting, known for its card system driving the battles and its demanding difficulty, a cult favorite among genre fans. The Japanese version is the original of a title that would see several revivals on other platforms. Its desirability rests on the singularity of its mechanics and the fervor of a loyal community, more than on front-rank scarcity.

An underrated gem

A singular tactical where battles play out through cards and formations, Yggdra Union pairs cerebral strategy with a tale of royal reconquest. Its demanding, disorienting system slowed its adoption beyond an in-the-know circle. For fans of original tactical challenges and polished art direction, it's a niche jewel from studio Sting.

Is Yggdra Union still worth playing in 2026?

Yggdra Union is a Sting tactical RPG with a singular system, in which Princess Yggdra leads her units through a war of cards that dictate the actions and skills available each turn. This original mechanic, blending positioning, chain clashes and card management, offers demanding and rewarding strategic depth. The polished art direction and mature story reinforce the whole. Kept exclusive to Japan in this edition, it will appeal to fans of atypical tactical RPGs after a system that breaks from the beaten path.
