The forest of Celceta imposes a constraint: making a wooded expanse legible without everything looking the same. Falcom answers with variations of undergrowth, clearings flooded with light, shadowed ravines, burnt zones, and with a map that draws itself as you explore, whose gradual filling is a visual pleasure in its own right.
Faithful to the Falcom spirit, the music unleashes an energetic rock with flamboyant electric guitars that galvanise every fight. The nervy themes embrace the speed of Adol's action with an infectious punch. This supercharged sonic identity remains one of the most beloved in the series.
Adol arrives in Casnan with no memory at all, and the story is built on its gradual recovery: each fragment retrieved takes the form of a played scene rather than a text, so the past is reconstituted through images. The central question remains what the hero did in that forest before losing it, and the answer comes late.
