Z is the PS1 port of The Bitmap Brothers' humorous military robot RTS. Capturing zones and destroying robotic enemies in accessible and fun RTS gameplay. Offbeat military humor and endearing robot characters. An honest port of a niche PC RTS on PS1.

Is Z still worth playing in 2026?

A real time strategy game from the Bitmap Brothers, Z leans on speed and aggression rather than resource management, with soldier robots fighting for control of territories that produce reinforcements as they are conquered. The snappy pace, the offbeat humour of the cutscenes and the zone capture concept cut against the contemplative RTS of the era. The console pad adaptation weighs the control down, finer with a mouse. An original, biting RTS for fans of fast strategy and British humour.
