The neighbours to rescue give the game its visual identity: each is a small characterised silhouette, cheerleader, bather, professor, dog, spotted from afar on the map. The weapons drawn from everyday life, water pistol, tomatoes, fire extinguishers, are drawn with the same comic care as the monsters.

Collector interest

Zombies Ate My Neighbors is the NTSC edition of the LucasArts/Konami game, a cult cooperative horror parody with Zeke and Julie against the zombies of suburbia. Its collector value comes from the cult status of the game among LucasArts fans and from the fact that the cartridge remains one of the most emblematic LucasArts/Konami productions of the 16-bit parody-horror subculture.

Better with friends

A gleeful suburban nightmare where two vigilantes roam infested neighborhoods to rescue neighbors before it's too late. Co-op is the heart of the experience: you warn of dangers, pass each other improbable items and improvise plans in a hurry. Funny and unpredictable, it spawns comical situations and makes two-player sessions a field of hilarious memories.

Is Zombies Ate My Neighbors still worth playing in 2026?

A cooperative action by LucasArts, Zombies Ate My Neighbors offers a horror humorous adventure where two heroes save neighbours from hordes of B horror monsters. The cartoon art direction paying tribute to classic horror films, two player cooperative mode and richness of the fifty five levels make it an absolutely unmissable gem of the Mega Drive catalogue. For anyone fond of humorous horror games or seeking an excellent cooperative game on the Sega console, an absolutely essential recommendation today still truly here indeed.
