The game pastiches B movie horror posters: zombies with outstretched arms, werewolves, killer dolls, swamp men, all drawn in garish colours across suburban lawns and shopping centres. The overhead view allows an implausible quantity of monsters to be piled up without ever making the screen unreadable.
The score hijacks the sonic codes of the horror film: organ, synthesised theremin, shrill strings, bells, all set over bouncing rhythms that stop the whole from ever being truly frightening. Each neighbourhood gets its theme, and the acceleration when a victim is about to be reached works as a countdown.
