The central tool of the gaze is the Genesis scanner. This handheld device, raised in first person, reveals hidden items under a green veil and analyzes creatures to draw resources from them, forcing you to sweep every room with the beam before advancing. The game makes minute examination a visual mechanic: you scrutinize walls, corpses and corners, and survival depends first on what you take the time to look at.
The audio dressing rests on Raid mode and its logic of score. Each precise shot rings out a points ping, a chime marks the level-up, a dry sound accompanies the loot picked off a downed enemy, and the tension rises less through fear than through the chase for the best result. This arcade layer, grafted onto the horror, turns sound into a direct feedback of performance, every hit heard as a gain.
The story goes back to the Terragrigia attack. Behind the hunt for a bioterrorist group hides a political manipulation: the director of a counterterrorism agency let happen, even orchestrated, the destruction of a floating city to secure his power and justify his organization. The investigation thus uncovers a false flag, where the designated enemy masks a leader ready to sacrifice a whole city for his ambition.
