A great Master System port of the Taito arcade classic. Bub and Bob are as adorable as ever and 100 levels keep things fresh. Co-op is the way to go for maximum enjoyment.

Is Bubble Bobble still worth playing in 2026?

A port of the Taito classic, Bubble Bobble moves the little dragons Bub and Bob who trap their enemies in bubbles before popping them, level after level. The brilliant concept, perfect in two player co-op, keeps an intact readability and joviality, carried by a catchy tune. The 8 bit conversion loses a little finesse against the arcade but restores the essentials. For a retro arcade platforming fan or a player after convivial co-op, the title keeps an immediate pleasure and a timeless charm.
