A more generous sequel to Chameleon Twist, refining the tongue mechanic and fleshing out the levels. The core idea remains unique, the settings vary more and the handling feels noticeably better. Still short, but plainly more polished than the first outing.

Japanese version from 1998, the sequel's first strike and the only one to keep Japan System Supply's original voices and presentation before the Western recut. The NTSC-J run was limited, the studio fading quickly after this title, which closes the series at three games and makes this cartridge the Japanese link of a short trilogy. Desirability rests on this character of original source for a saga that stayed largely Japanese.

Is Chameleon Twist 2 still worth playing in 2026?

Chameleon Twist 2 extends Sunsoft's chameleon adventure with new colorful worlds and refined tongue mechanics, more varied than in the first installment. The levels gain in diversity and the central concept stays just as fun, supported by a polished presentation and a good-natured tone. The longevity remains short and the difficulty accessible. For fans of retro 3D platformers with an original idea and endearing mascots of the N64 era, this more accomplished sequel is the best representative of the series.
