The game is played in cross section, like an ant farm: you dig galleries into the rock and install rooms whose every type has its own drawing, spring, forge, altar, garden. That sliced view, highly unusual, lets you read the state of the mountain at a glance, and the contrast between black stone and lit rooms structures the whole screen.
The score holds the atmosphere of an inhabited underground: low pads, water drops turned into percussion, modal figures circling slowly through the long building phases. Outside attacks raise the tempo in one stroke, and that contrast between the calm of digging and the urgency of a siege structures the whole listening experience.
