Lush jungles, devastated megacities and photorealistic light: the game pushed technical limits with stunning vegetation and effects. The density of the settings and the rendering of the light compose a cutting-edge realism. This visual ambition, polished and spectacular, long stood as a graphic showcase.
A shooter from Crytek, Crysis 2 transposes the war against an alien invasion to a devastated New York, where the Nanosuit lets you switch on the fly between strength, armour and invisibility to adapt your approach to each situation. The tactical freedom, the remarkable technical quality for the PS3 and the spectacular pace make it a generation FPS reference. The decline of multiplayer and increased linearity over the first game weigh on it. An excellent FPS for fans of tactical shooting and science fiction action.
