Collector interest

Japanese Rev 1 of Dairantou Smash Brothers DX is the corrected version of Sakurai's GameCube port by Nintendo after the first software adjustments. Collector value comes from Melee's cult status in the competitive Smash subculture and from consistency with the Japanese NAOMI local arcade build.

Better with friends

A platform melee where beloved mascots are launched off the ring on rising percentages, up to four in a gleeful free-for-all. Depending on the settings, you swing from total item-strewn chaos to a technical versus of unsuspected depth. Immediate for novices, inexhaustible for diehards, it weds competition and laughter and remains an unshakable pillar of pad-in-hand evenings.

Is Dairantou Smash Brothers DX still worth playing in 2026?

An undisputed peak of the series for many, Super Smash Bros Melee imposes unmatched speed and technical depth that still feeds an intense competitive scene more than twenty years after release. The Nintendo mascot roster, the varied levels and the side modes overflow with generosity. Wavedashing, L canceling and advanced techniques created a unique meta. For anyone wanting to understand why Melee became a versus myth, the title remains absolutely unmissable on the console for any serious fighting devotee.
