Dead Rising 2 takes Chuck Greene to Fortune City with hilarious combo weapons and a perfect neon setting. More forgiving and more generous than the first, with the comic magic intact from start to finish.

Fortune City parodies the casinos of Nevada: themed facades, plastic knights, pyramids and blinking signs still calling for customers no shuttle will ever bring again. The workbench serves as a visual laboratory, each combined weapon producing an improvised object recognizable at a glance, a rake studded with batteries or chainsaws bolted to an oar.
The casino keeps running on its own: slot machines chiming in front of empty rooms, recorded orchestras in the lobbies, show announcements for halls full of the dead. This automated ambience makes up most of the sonic background, and the rare moments when it stops, a power failure included, become the game's most unsettling.
Chuck Greene did not come for a scoop but for a dose: his daughter is infected and needs treatment every twenty-four hours, which turns the game's clock into a medical countdown. Accused on the cameras of a reality show of having triggered the outbreak, he has to prove his innocence while hunting for medicine, two emergencies that never reconcile.
An open world action game from Capcom, Dead Rising 2 sends former biker Chuck Greene to survive in a zombie infested Las Vegas complex, rigging up wild combined weapons to cut through the horde under a strict time limit. The creative mayhem, the biting humour and the co-op make it a gleeful, tense experience. The rigid save system and the time management divide. An excellent game for fans of carefree zombie slaughter, dark humour and management under pressure on Xbox 360.
