DemiKids Dark Version, an SMT-inspired RPG aimed at a younger audience. Demon capture, turn-based battles, softened dark atmosphere. Honest but lacking depth.

Collector interest

Dark Version of DemiKids, Atlus's demon-collecting RPG spun off from Shin Megami Tensei, released in the US in 2003. This darker half of the twin pair houses exclusive demons absent from the Light Version, making it the more sought half of the duo. The exceptionally high complete value stems from a limited US print run and the lasting standing of any SMT-derived RPG on GBA among collectors.

A questionable morality

Under its cheerful kid-friendly veneer, the adventure is mostly about building a little army of demons recruited along the way, then sending them off to pummel other demons in your stead. The hero saves the world with a smile while turning every creature he meets into a devoted pocket soldier: an interspecies friendship with a surprisingly martial payoff.
