Collector interest

GBA reissue of the first Bomberman in the Famicom Mini collection, a look back at the 1985 Hudson title that founded one of video gaming's most enduring multiplayer series. The cartridge restores the maze bomb-laying at the origin of an entire genre, in a miniature box reproducing the Famicom packaging. Its collecting interest rests on this status as the matrix of a major Hudson franchise and on the game's place in the console's commemorative line.

Is Famicom Mini 09 - Bomberman still worth playing in 2026?

A GBA reissue of the first Bomberman, this Famicom Mini brings back the founding concept of laying bombs in grid mazes. Managing explosions, gathering power-ups and the art of trapping yourself as much as your foes form a game design base of exemplary clarity. The lack of multiplayer in this solo version limits the reach, but the tension stays intact. For a genre fan, someone curious about the series' origins or a collector, the title keeps a simple effectiveness and a definite retro charm.
