The fighting game adaptation keeps the caricature of the source world: characters with distorted proportions, an obese monk, a skeletal samurai, a giant sorceress, all drawn with a thick line that underscores the comedy. The settings take up an imagery of popular theatre, painted screens, lanterns and platforms, rather than realistic backdrops.
The score draws on traditional Japanese instrumentation, three-stringed lute, bamboo flutes, festival drums, but handles it with the energy of a fighting game, producing an unexpected crossing. The character themes each borrow from a region or a trade, so that the cast is heard almost as much as it is seen.
Complete: box, manual and disc/cart very clean. Lightly handled.

The Japanese cartridge keeps the original Japanese voices and the jidaigeki folkloric references that define the Tengai Makyou universe.
