The conversion reduces the fighters' size but preserves their characteristic postures and outfits, red cap, kimono, military uniform. The national backdrops, temple, harbour, marketplace, keep their animated extras in the background, and the two-line fighting system stays readable thanks to a clear vertical offset.
The fighters' themes are rearranged for the sound chip while keeping their recognisable melodies, with timbres evoking each one's country, flute, guitar, brass. The arrangements favour the main line and lighten the accompaniment, preserving the identity of every piece despite the constraints.
