The conversion faces a compression challenge: bringing sprites designed for a far more generous arcade board inside cartridge limits without losing the silhouettes that define the series. Terry, Andy and Mai stay recognisable at first glance, and the settings, harbours, temples, rainy alleys, keep their animated bystanders in the background.
