Story

"Captivating"
Between dramatic orchestra and discreet electro, the score culminates in the vocal theme "Lost in Thoughts All Alone", heartbreaking and unforgettable. The music underlines Corrin's torn loyalty between two families and draws each battle taut. This emotional breadth, carried by a superb song, leaves a deep mark.

Advancing through a more accessible campaign where you can grind levels, forge bonds and marry your units sets up a generous tactical play in which each map calls for the next. Building your castle and recruiting rekindles the urge to keep going. It remains the gentlest path of the pair, but this alchemy of strategy and relationships retains a formidable grip.

Joining the Hoshido family launches a tactical campaign of direct battles, designed for a long investment without putting you off. Tending the bonds between units, supporting your troops and chaining chapters holds you for many hours. That generosity, doubled by replay value across the alternate paths, justifies a longevity tacticians appreciate.

Fire Emblem Fates - Birthright (3DS) price, value & rarity
Birthright NTSC stands out with its US-specific sleeve and the fact that the Fates triptych was never physically reissued in the United States. This is therefore the only official Birthright cartridge edition on that market. Its collector value rises steadily as NTSC copies with their original sleeve and intact Conquest code grow rarer one by one.
Is Fire Emblem Fates - Birthright still worth playing in 2026?
Released in 2015 in Japan then 2016 in the West on 3DS and known in Japan as Fire Emblem If - Byakuya Oukoku, this path of Fire Emblem Fates follows the kingdom of Hoshido and is the most accessible entry of the diptych. The ability to gain experience freely and more classic maps make it a tactical RPG ideal to discover or enjoy the series without the harshness of the Nohr path. The support and marriage system, the unit pairs and the careful art direction carry a warm adventure. The uneven writing divides. An excellent tactical RPG, recommended for fans of strategy and for newcomers.
