Collector interest

Flink stayed exclusive to the European Mega Drive and Mega-CD, never receiving a North American cartridge release, which channels demand toward PAL copies. Its hand drawn backdrops and fluid animation, from part of the team behind Lionheart, give it a reputation as a technically ambitious yet little known platformer. A modest 1994 print run and the lack of any contemporary reissue keep values strong for a Psygnosis 16 bit title that few players encountered at launch.

An underrated gem

Few 16-bit platformers look this polished: hand-painted backdrops, buttery animations and a sorcerer's apprentice who brews his spells by gathering ingredients. Released with little fanfare, this small Psygnosis title barely found an audience. Its artistic flair and originality make it a treat for fans of refined platforming.

Is Flink still worth playing in 2026?

A platformer from Psygnosis, Flink stars a young apprentice wizard who collects ingredients to cast spells and progress through enchanted realms. The hand drawn art direction, of a finesse rare on the machine, and the magic system bring a real personality to a demanding puzzle action gameplay. The visual charm and the originality still appeal. For a fan of polished retro platforming or someone curious about the Mega Drive's overlooked gems, the title keeps a marked artistic and playful appeal.
