Collector interest

A Wii adaptation of the cult twin-stick shooter Geometry Wars, transposing the game's arcade intensity to console with a new galaxy mode. Printed modestly for a niche genre, it is a bit less common than the big titles and valued by fans of frantic shooters. Its interest lies in this status as a fleshed-out console version of a modern shooter classic rather than a very marked print scarcity.

An underrated gem

Bringing the cult twin-stick shooter to Wii and DS was a gamble, and the result impresses with its snappiness and a brand-new galaxy mode. Overshadowed by the HD-console versions, it slipped under the radar. For fans of frantic scoring and luminous geometric chaos, it's a generous conversion that's surprisingly well done.

Is Geometry Wars - Galaxies still worth playing in 2026?

Released in 2007 on Wii, Bizarre Creations' project brings the famous dual stick shoot them up to the console, enriching it with a vast galaxy mode structured into planets to clear. The principle is to survive in an arena where you move and fire in two distinct directions, facing swarms of geometric enemies of abstract beauty. The scoring system, deep and exhilarating, rewards risk taking, backed by a configurable companion drone. The Nunchuk handling remains a compromise against the stick. An excellent take on the twin stick shooter, recommended for fans of scoring and of nervous action.
