A dazzling sequel that doubles down on multipliers and visual spectacle. Denser, faster, crazier: scoring becomes vertiginous and shmup joy turns absolute.

Collector interest

GigaWing 2 is the Japanese edition of Capcom's vertical shmup designed by Takumi, one of the most emblematic manic shooters of the late Dreamcast. Collector value comes from the game's cult status among scoring enthusiasts and from a restricted local Capcom print, the Dreamcast shmup segment already shrinking at release. A reference piece for Takumi/Capcom collectors.

Is GigaWing 2 still worth playing in 2026?

A direct sequel to the first instalment, GigaWing 2 keeps the trademark Reflect system able to bounce every bullet on screen back at the source. Scores explode quickly and the pace remains insane, especially in two or three player co op. Visually more generous than its predecessor, the title cultivates a sometimes cluttered yet readable look once you settle in. For fans of festive vertical shooters and multi zero score chains, it retains an immediate effectiveness that is genuinely satisfying.
