Collector interest

Koei historical RPG released in the U.S. in 1993, set in Sengoku-era Japan, one of the studio's rarer NTSC localizations of a niche title. Its desirability rests on that under-the-radar Koei status: pressed in smaller numbers than the publisher's big wargames, it appeals to fans of retro strategy RPGs and to collectors tracking the full Koei catalogue. The loose cart circulates, but a complete copy with cardboard box and the thick Koei manual carries the value for this U.S. edition.

Is Inindo - Way of the Ninja still worth playing in 2026?

A historical RPG from Koei, Inindo drops the player into Sengoku-era Japan, where a ninja-clan survivor sets out to topple Oda Nobunaga. Turn-based battles, exploration of the country and a touch of typically Koei management make for an adventure more narrative than the studio's usual sims. The presentation is careful but the pace slow, and the whole asks for patience. A fine little-known Koei, best reserved for fans of measured historical RPGs and authentic Japanese settings, rather than the player in a hurry.
