Description
A late Genki sequel released in 2005 in Japan, subtitled "Touge no Densetsu" ("Legend of the Pass"). Reworked engine compared to the earlier Kaidou Battle games, new rare cars (Skyline GT-R, RX-7 R-Spec…) and an extended career progression. Considered the most accomplished entry of the Japanese Kaidou touge branch.

NTSC-J Japanese version of Spike's touge series (Kaido Battle), the best-rated of the line and the most authentic with its real courses and manufacturers. A Japan-only exclusive never ported as-is to the West, it appeals to drift purists and importers who favor the cultural fidelity of the original release. A reasonable Japanese print keeps it affordable loose, but a clean complete copy stays in demand among import driving-game enthusiasts.
Is Kaidou - Touge no Densetsu still worth playing in 2026?
A new entry in Genki's touge racer, Kaidou Touge no Densetsu deepens the nocturnal duels on mountain roads with a fuller roster of cars and passes, deep mechanical tuning and a particularly polished mountain pass racing mood. The precision demanded in hairpin bends, the wealth of customisation and the faithfulness to touge culture make it one of the series' peaks. The production and a niche concept reserve access for enthusiasts. An excellent racing game for fans of Japanese driving.
