Ketsui Extra remains an absolute peak of Cave's manic shooting, with point-blank chains and a heavy military atmosphere. The militaristic fantasy direction stands alone, the soundtrack is sublime, and every credit drags learners into pattern memorisation with rare obsession.

Collector interest

A port of Cave's cult shoot-them-up Ketsui, a Japan exclusive with a very limited run in a genre for which the 360 became a sanctuary in Japan. Its real scarcity and the devotion of bullet-hell fans make it one of the most expensive and coveted 360 pieces. Its desirability lies in this mix of minimal run and cult prestige within the shmup community.

Memorable bosses

More martial and head-on than its cousins, this shooter rewards aggression: locking onto the enemy at point-blank multiplies the score but exposes you to deadly retaliation. Flying fortresses and titanic armor pour out fire of merciless precision. A grim tone, razor-sharp patterns and a dreaded final boss make it a demanding peak, a cult favorite among scorers.

An underrated gem

A pure bullet hell from Cave, it pours out walls of projectiles in a ballet as intimidating as it is exhilarating, rewarding cool nerves and memorization. Kept exclusively Japanese and cut out for purists, it reached only a circle of insiders. Its intensity and scoring depth make it a grail for fans of demanding vertical shooters.

Is Ketsui - Kizuna Jigoku-tachi Extra still worth playing in 2026?

Ported to Xbox 360 by Cave, Ketsui Kizuna Jigoku-tachi Extra is an intense, militaristic bullet hell shoot them up, renowned for its aggressive scoring system that rewards firing as close to enemies as possible. This close range mechanic creates a constant tension, heightened by a dark, martial art direction. The density of projectiles and the merciless demand make it a title reserved for seasoned players, but the sense of mastery is without equal. The content stays austere. But the scoring depth fascinates. For devotees of manic shooters, extreme challenge and Cave heritage, this title keeps a definite value today.
