Collector interest

A 1995 Taito/Natsume Super Famicom top-down action shooter, Japan-exclusive, direct sequel in the Pocky & Rocky line with a markedly stronger Japanese folklore art direction. The cart was released late in the SFC cycle with a modest print. Intact boxed CIB with cardboard sleeve and illustrated Taito manual has become a target for completionist Pocky & Rocky collectors, and the cote climbs hard, sustained by physical scarcity and by the franchise's cult aura.

An underrated gem

This sequel refines the formula by adding allies you carry on your back to combine their powers, across even more varied seasonal settings. Released without fanfare, it stayed in the shadow of the big franchises. More generous and accessible than the first, it will delight duos after festive, beautifully colorful action.

Is Kiki Kaikai - Tsukiyo Soushi still worth playing in 2026?

Never released outside Japan, Kiki Kaikai - Tsukiyo Soushi is a Natsume sequel to the top down folklore shooter known in the West as Pocky and Rocky. The multi directional staff shot, the visuals inspired by Japanese folktales and the local co op mode make the experience addictive and demanding. The difficulty stays harsh but readable. A fan translation exists. Recommended to fans of precise top down shooting, Japanese folklore and tense local co op.
