Considered by many the best KOF on PS2. The Leader Desperation system and exceptionally balanced roster make KOF XI a remarkable competitive experience. Art direction is at the series peak. The absolute benchmark of SNK fighting games on PS2.

Description
The eleventh main 2D entry, released in arcades in 2005 on Atomiswave and ported to PS2 between 2006 and 2007 (Canada, US, Europe, Japan). A direct sequel to KOF 2003, extending the three-character tag system and closing the Tales of Ash saga with an ambitious story. For many, SNK Playmore's 2D peak.

Is King of Fighters XI, The still worth playing in 2026?

The XI entry of SNK's versus fighter, The King of Fighters XI extends mid fight teammate switching with a refined system of relays and cancels that opens up spectacular combos, in a snappy three on three with a widened roster. The fluidity of the clashes, the technical depth and the polished pixel art make it an entry much appreciated by connoisseurs. The demanding pace and the richness of the system call for mastery. An excellent 2D fighting game for fans of the King of Fighters series and technical team brawling.
