Story

"Anecdotal"
The Japanese edition embraces the caricatural deformation of its whole cast: the catalogue's serious figures are redrawn in reduced proportions, oversized head and short limbs, which makes them compatible with one another despite incompatible graphic origins. The karts, identical in silhouette, differ only in colours and ornaments.
The sound programme works as an anthology of the house catalogue: dozens of motifs borrowed from titles of different generations follow one another, rearranged with the same timbres to give unity to a heterogeneous whole. The start and finish jingles, written for the occasion, act as the binder between those quotations.

A kart, prankish items and a string of Konami mascots launched along colourful tracks: the arcade karting formula arrives with infectious spirit. Drifting, shortcuts and dirty tricks keep up a joyful chaos, especially in multiplayer. Immediate, snappy and packed with nods, an ideal racing companion to pull out anywhere.

Is Konami Wai Wai Racing Advance still worth playing in 2026?
Konami Wai Wai Racing Advance is the Japanese version of Konami Krazy Racers, a kart game in which the heroes of the studio's franchises, from Simon Belmont to Goemon, race on themed tracks. The snappy driving, varied items and the nod to in-house licenses stay just as enjoyable, ideal for short games. The formula stays classic next to Mario Kart, with no major surprise. For fans of arcade karting and Konami fans curious about the Japanese edition, it is a safe bet in the GBA catalog.
