tri-Ace deliver a very ambitious JRPG with multi-squad combat unions, inspired art direction and a sprawling world. The 360 version suffers a few slowdowns but the tactical depth stays superb and especially rewarding.

Built around sprawling battles that pit whole squads against each other, this Square Enix RPG eats the hours through its union system, its recruitable guilds and a world dotted with side quests. The map teems with rare beasts to hunt and weapons to forge, and its demanding rhythm invites long experimentation before mastery clicks. A raw kind of generosity that still earns it respect among fans of dense role-playing.

Last Remnant, The (Xbox 360) price, value & rarity
The European PAL edition of The Last Remnant, a tri-Ace RPG with inspired art direction and a teeming world, distributed for the European market. On a 360 where the Japanese RPG reached a narrower enthusiast audience than in the US or Japan, this PAL pressing saw a measured spread. Desirability rests on the title's standing as the only console version for years and on the relative scarcity of the European edition among genre collectors.
