"Captivating"
An anime aesthetic faithful to CLAMP's manga: heroines of elegant design, vivid colours and fairytale settings compose an RPG of great gentleness. The roundness of the line and the richness of the hues overflow with shojo charm. This art direction, polished and warm, delights fans of the original work.
In the colours of the CLAMP anime, the music blends lyrical orchestra and heroic themes to carry the magic knights' adventure in the world of Cephiro. Each trial pulses with a magical, rousing emotion, between tenderness and grandeur. This sonic richness, faithful to the spirit of the manga, makes all the charm of this JRPG.

Magic Knight Rayearth (Saturn) price, value & rarity
Original Japanese Saturn edition of Magic Knight Rayearth, distributed by Sega in August 1995 with the 4M tag, a CLAMP anime adaptation by Sega CS that mixes action RPG and animated cinematic sequences produced directly by Polygon Pictures. Sega Japan run was short, jewel case with intact obi marked Rayearth, and Rayearth's position in the Japanese Saturn launch wave makes it for CLAMP enthusiasts as much as for Sega completists a central archive object. Complete with obi clearly sought after.
An underrated gem
Adapted from the CLAMP manga, this action-RPG follows three schoolgirls turned Magic Knights in a colorful world full of giant robots. Its sole Western release, arriving very late, kept it obscure. Charming and accessible, with its real-time combat and warm tone, it'll please fans of heartfelt Japanese adventure.
Is Magic Knight Rayearth still worth playing in 2026?
An action RPG by Sega adapted from the CLAMP manga, Magic Knight Rayearth offers a fantasy adventure where three young girls are transported to a magical world to save it. The adorable manga art direction faithful to the original work, accessible action combat system and faithful scenario make it a good manga adaptation. The western version has become rare and particularly coveted. For anyone fond of CLAMP or seeking a charming action RPG, a warm recommendation today still truly here indeed for any newcomer.
