Story
"Anecdotal"
This version tied to a radio station adds in house figures and promotional dressing to the original game: logos, redrawn presentation screens, guest portraits slipped into the arcana gallery. The playing area does not move by a single pixel, an obvious choice since the whole readability of the game rests on it.
Gameplay
"Excellent"
Fun
"From the very first seconds"
The sequel polishes the supercharged formula: new characters, more varied modes and an even more frantic pace that pushes reflexes to their limit. Grabbing, stacking and triggering monstrous chains delivers an exhilarating satisfaction. The versus, frantic and hilarious, hooks instantly. Colourful, deep and fiercely addictive, a peak of the snappy puzzler.
Addictiveness
"Obsessive"
Inhaling and releasing the beads to chain immense vertical combos sets up a frenzy that the versus mode revives without respite. New characters, varied modes and rising difficulty always give a reason to attempt another round. The formula stays close to the first, but its speed and depth keep a fearsome hook.

Is Magical Drop 2 - Bunka Housou Special Version still worth playing in 2026?

A special edition of Magical Drop II distributed through a Japanese radio station, keeping the series' addictive core while adding a few promotional touches. The bubble-lining play remains a model of reflexes and explosive chains, quick and readable. Its rarity makes it sought after by collectors more than for any deep difference from the standard release. An excellent competitive puzzler, especially tasty two-player.
