Maximo sequel in the zombie and machine universe. The Ghost'n'Goblins-inspired hack-and-slash with platformer mechanics is well executed. Slightly more accessible than the first entry. A pleasant action title for franchise fans seeking a sequel to the original adventure.

Is Makai Eiyuuki Maximo - Machine Monster no Yabou still worth playing in 2026?

An action platformer from Capcom, Maximo vs Army of Zin extends the skeleton hero of Ghosts to Glory with snappy combat, vertical exploration and a difficulty inherited from the Ghosts'n Goblins spirit, in a colourful, oversized setting. The handling smoother than the first entry, the scale of the levels and the macabre cartoon charm appeal to fans of demanding action. The sometimes ungrateful camera and the high difficulty call for perseverance. A tough 3D platformer to recommend for fans of old school action and old fashioned challenge.
