Two graphic regimes answer each other from one screen to the other. The waking world keeps the usual depth, shadows and built scenery, while the dream world tips into a strictly lateral plane, saturated in colour with simplified backdrops, where the laws of matter no longer hold. The sleeper appears there multiplied into dozens of copies that form staircases, whirlwinds or walkways.
Moving from one world to the other is heard before it is seen. A theme from reality comes back in the dream stretched out, drowned in reverberation, with softened attacks and a slower bass, as though heard through a wall. That treatment, applied systematically, lets you recognise a place already visited even when its appearance has completely changed, and gives the dream its coherence.

Diving into Luigi's dreams to wage giant battles and solve brand-new puzzles, all while syncing jumps to precise timing, makes for an action RPG whose every clever idea rekindles curiosity.
