The real show is in the animation of the characters. The two brothers squash on landing, stretch on a jump, tremble before a missed hit, turn towards each other for a reproachful look, and the whole comedy passes through those deformations borrowed from cartoons. No line of dialogue is needed, a shrug held two frames too long is enough to raise a laugh.
The touch screen becomes a small instrument. Pinching, stretching, rubbing or tapping the sleeper's face triggers a different note each time, tuned to the key of the piece currently playing, so that handling a sleeping face amounts to playing over the music. That purely optional detail turns dozens of compulsory manipulations into a free pastime you never tire of.

Diving into Luigi's dreams to wage giant battles and solve brand-new puzzles, all while syncing jumps to precise timing, makes for an action RPG whose every clever idea rekindles curiosity.
