The mechanical bird accompanying the hero adds a second permanently mobile sprite to the screen, which demands tight visual management in already busy stages. The stages push exoticism further, a speeding train, a dwarf planet, a crystal forest, and the letters to collect are drawn large enough to be spotted from afar.
Carried by Proto Man's mysterious arrival, the entry deploys catchy electronic themes and a slightly graver atmosphere. Capcom's music supports the action with a melodic energy faithful to the series' spirit. This sonic generosity confirms the studio's unequalled craft on NES.
The European PAL NES edition of the fifth entry, released at the end of the NES PAL commercial cycle. The drastically short print makes PAL CIB one of the most expensive European Mega Man carts, just behind the sixth entry that barely reached Europe.
