Dazzling 2D, animated cutscenes and colourful settings: the game modernises the series with a lively, polished cartoon aesthetic. The fluidity of the sprites and the richness of the hues overflow with energy. This visual direction, joyful and crisp, illustrates the graphic peak of the Blue Bomber in 2D.
Taking advantage of the CD, the music offers melodic, rousing themes of a new richness, with polished pop-rock arrangements. Each Robot Master stage pulses with a catchy tune perfectly in tune with the nervy action. This sonic generosity, faithful to the series' spirit while enriching it, delights fans of the Blue Bomber.

The blue robot returns in a platform-action adventure with colourful graphics and animated cutscenes: jumping, shooting and stealing the powers of defeated bosses stays a timeless pleasure. The clever level design and the variety of weapons invite experimentation. Precise, demanding and generous, a polished entry that carries the series' spirit forward with flair.
North American release of Capcom's eighth canonical Mega Man, issued NTSC-U on a console losing ground to the PlayStation. This Saturn edition adds the Cut Man and Wood Man bosses absent from the PlayStation version, a decisive draw for series completists. Scarcity runs high in the West: a brief 1997 US run, never reissued, placing complete pricing among the catalogue's peaks. Demand is fed by the dual Mega Man and US Saturn audiences.
Memorable bosses
The leap to 32-bit brings animated cutscenes and vivid colors, from redesigned robot masters to punchy duels against the rival Bass. The weapon system keeps its weakness logic while new sequences spice up the pace. This spectacular showcase, faithful to the original spirit, offers one of the series' finest visual displays.
Is Mega Man 8 still worth playing in 2026?
An entry in the classic series from Capcom, Mega Man 8 sends the blue robot to face eight Robot Masters to counter Dr Wily, in platform action with dazzling graphics and animated cutscenes. The precise gameplay, the weapons to steal from bosses and the snappy pace stay faithful to the saga's spirit, enriched with a shimmering 32 bit production. A few forced sequences and dated voice acting divide. For a fan of retro action platforming or of Mega Man, the title keeps a solid playability and a preserved visual charm.
