PS1 port of Mega Man X3 from Super Nintendo. The X trilogy continuation with a playable Zero and collectable sub-tanks. Less visually accomplished than the 16-bit versions but preserves the series' essential demanding gameplay. For series fans wanting to complete the X trilogy.

Collector interest

The PAL release of Mega Man X3, the last 16-bit X entry ported to PS1 with Zero briefly playable. Issued in very small quantities in Europe in late 1996, it ranks among the priciest, hardest-to-complete PAL PSone Mega Man titles, with CIB and sealed reaching steep figures. Demand driven by regional scarcity and X-trilogy completion, well above the far more common SNES cart.

Memorable bosses

Faster and more aggressive than the classic series, this entry pits you against eight animal-machine Mavericks, each defeat opening the next one's weakness. Dashing, wall jumps and pilotable ride armors energize snappy duels, punctuated by clashes with the henchmen Bit and Byte. The climb toward Doppler and Sigma crowns a sharp action formula, demanding without being unfair.

Is Mega Man X3 still worth playing in 2026?

The third entry in Capcom's X branch, Mega Man X3 closes the 16 bit trilogy with its snappy action platforming, its pattern based Maverick bosses and its armour upgrade system. The addition of playable Zero, still limited, and a fuller arsenal enrich the proven formula. Less inspired than its elders and brought here in a PlayStation version with reworked music, it remains a solid action game. To recommend for fans of demanding platforming and of the Mega Man X saga.
