Everything rests on a constraint held to the end: each material is described by a square texture of very low definition, and it is the repetition of those squares that produces cliffs, forests and oceans. The lighting does the rest, a sky graduating from day to night, torches carving orange haloes, clean shadows on the exposed faces.
The music stands out by its scarcity: long hours pass with no sound but footsteps, water and the noise of tools, then a piano piece appears without warning and vanishes the same way. The pieces, built on suspended chords and very few notes, draw their effect from that emergence, and the silence between them is part of the composition.
