Charming and colorful Taito arcade platformer. Gameplay centered on water bubbles, accessible and fun. Cute visuals typical of the 16-bit era. Short but pleasant. A lovely nostalgic moment for classic platformer fans.

Collector interest

Saturn port of Liquid Kids, Taito's 1990 aquatic arcade platformer, released in Japan in 1998 as Mizubaku Daibouken. Its scarcity is among the sharpest in this group: a tiny run at the very end of the console's life, Japan exclusivity, and recognition from retro-platformer fans for the faithfulness of the conversion. The complete value, among the catalogue's highest, reflects the obi and original case rarely found together. A benchmark piece for late JP Saturn collecting.

Is Mizubaku Daibouken still worth playing in 2026?

An aquatic platformer from Taito, Mizubaku Daibouken, known as Liquid Kids, stages a little character who throws water bubbles to soak and trap his enemies before bursting them. The playful water mechanic, the colourful levels and the good natured humour recall the spirit of Bubble Bobble, in a shimmering production and an accessible pace. The visual charm and the immediate playability appeal. For a fan of cute retro platforming or someone curious about the Taito arcade catalogue, the title keeps a preserved freshness and direct fun.
