The European PAL NES Punch-Out!! without Tyson, distributed after Mike Tyson's name was removed in favour of Mr. Dream. The PAL cart is interesting precisely for that substitution: it documents the licence break and stays more accessible than the Tyson pressing. PAL boxed CIB in the original cardboard box climbs steadily, sustained by the historical coherence of a complete Punch-Out!! collection with both variants.

Memorable bosses

More than a boxing game, this festival of duels rests on reading tells: each opponent telegraphs his blows, and surviving comes down to choreography learned by heart. King Hippo, Bald Bull and their colorful gallery precede a fearsomely fast final champion. Memory, timing and composure make these bouts a high point of the genre, endlessly addictive to replay.

Is Punch-Out!! still worth playing in 2026?

Punch-Out!! without Mike Tyson offers Mr. Dream as the final opponent, after the boxer's licence was dropped. The gameplay stays rigorously identical and just as perfect: read patterns and counter at the right time. The reference version of the experience after the Tyson licence expired, with one of the most accomplished gameplay loops on NES. Still a timeless classic to bring out today.
