A small top-down action title in which the cat Mouser hunts invading rats. The childlike concept is cute, the levels are varied and the four-player mode is fun. A fussy camera and an occasionally slack pace stop it from soaring, but it remains a perfectly likeable title for younger players.

The Europe (PAL) edition of Rat Attack, and one of the most extreme N64 rarities in the world: a minuscule Mindscape print run at the console's dying end in late 1999, multilingual across six languages. Complete and sealed copies peak at staggering sums, among the highest in the PAL catalogue. The value owes nothing to the game, a modest kids' action title, and everything to the sheer scarcity of this edition.
