Volition FPS. Geo-Mod system to destroy environments in real time, futuristic military missions. Decent execution but inferior to PS2/PC, solid gameplay. For FPS fans curious about destruction. Honest no more.

Is Red Faction II still worth playing in 2026?

This third-person shooter set in a grim future banked on its Geomod destructible terrain and heavy arsenal. At release it was competent but already a step below its predecessor, with a short, linear campaign and a by-the-numbers insurrection plot. Today the environmental destruction impresses less and the gunplay feels stiff against modern shooter standards. It remains a curiosity for fans of early-2000s shooters or followers of the series, but offers little reason for a wider audience to return.
