Firaxis bring Civilization to 360 with a pad-streamlined system and a preserved sense of the epic. Sid Meier favours legibility, games last a few hours, and this is probably the finest console 4X under the Civ banner until the more recent PC successors.

Collector interest

North American (NTSC-U) edition of Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution, a console adaptation of Firaxis's famous strategy game, rethought for the controller with shorter, accessible games. Still common, its collector interest is modest and rests mainly on the curiosity of a strategy heavyweight on console rather than scarcity. A supporting piece for strategy fans of the console.

Is Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution still worth playing in 2026?

Released in 2008 on Xbox 360, Firaxis' Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution brilliantly adapts the legendary turn based strategy for console and pad, condensing the formula into shorter, nervier games. Leading a civilization from antiquity to the modern era, through conquest, culture, science or economy, keeps all its addictive power. The interface reworked for the pad is exemplary in its clarity. The depth is lesser than on PC. But the accessibility is a real success. For fans of console turn based strategy and the genre curious, this title keeps a strong appeal today.
