Capcom composes a Soviet future out of propaganda: colossal statues, stylised sickles, concrete fortresses collapsing live. Hiryu climbs every surface, red scarf snapping behind him, through stages running from frozen Siberia to Amazonian jungle. A dense graphic imagination, rare for an action game of the period.
Junko Tamiya's themes, written for the arcade board, keep on the FM chip their skeleton of hijacked military fanfare: synthetic brass, distorted marches, brutal breaks when the scenery tips over. Every stage receives a recognisable motif that sets the country being crossed. A martial, strange soundtrack, in the image of the world it dresses.
Complete: box, manual and disc/cart very clean. Lightly handled.
