Summon Night - Swordcraft Story (GBA) price, value & rarity
North American edition of Summon Night Swordcraft Story, distributed by Atlus USA in April 2006 as the GBA was approaching its commercial end of life. First time the Summon Night franchise reached the Western market, and the only English cartridge release before the sub saga vanished outside the archipelago. Atlus USA run was short, the North American cardboard box is sturdier than the PAL standard, and a US identified complete copy is clearly valued among English speaking Flight-Plan enthusiasts.
An underrated gem
An action-RPG where you forge your own weapons from gathered materials and summon Craftlords to fight, all in a warm and welcoming world. Never translated and lost in a prolific series, it stayed obscure outside Japan. Its lovingly crafted systems and charm make it a choice find for fans of action J-RPGs.
Is Summon Night - Swordcraft Story still worth playing in 2026?
Summon Night Craft Sword Monogatari, released in the West as Summon Night Swordcraft Story, is a charming action RPG built around weapon forging. The hero or heroine crafts the whole arsenal across the adventure and faces bosses in real time duels on a side view plane. The pacing stays gentle, the writing is friendly and the Banpresto touch shines through the summon companions. Not the deepest RPG in the GBA library, yet a very endearing cartridge for fans of softly drawn portable adventures.
