Sequel to Tales of Symphonia GameCube, six years after the merger of the two worlds. Emil and Marta, new protagonists, surrounded by first-entry heroes. Real-time multi-line Tales combat, capturable monster companion system, dark vengeance scenario. Wiimote or Classic Controller, generous fifty-hour runtime. Good sequel for fans, decent Wii presentation. Less epic than the first but more mature.

The bestiary has been redrawn so that you want to keep it. Since the creatures you meet can join the party and change shape, each one is given the look of a companion rather than an obstacle, with readable eyes, an inviting stance and colour variants that signal evolution. Around them, the reassembled world mixes without transition architectures that used to belong to two separate continents.
The score uses the previous episode's themes as identity cards. When a former hero reappears, a few bars of his motif are enough to introduce him, before his name is even spoken, and the orchestration is darkened a notch each time to mark the years passed. The new characters, for their part, are only granted short themes that still sound unsettled.
The point of view is the real stroke of daring. The story is entrusted to a boy who lost everything because of the previous episode's victors, and who hates them for it, so the heroes once played appear at first as suspect figures. On top of that sits an unreliable narrator, since the boy at times borrows an identity that is not his own.

Tales of Symphonia - Dawn of the New World (Wii) price, value & rarity
Is Tales of Symphonia - Dawn of the New World still worth playing in 2026?
An action RPG from Namco Bandai, Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World, released in Japan as Ratatosk no Kishi, is the direct sequel to Tales of Symphonia, following a tormented young man and his bond with a mysterious creature, through the series' real time combat system enriched with a monster recruitment mechanic. The return to this beloved world, the snappy combat and the creature collecting win over fans. The reuse of settings and a divisive hero split opinion. A good game for fans of Japanese action RPGs and the Tales series on Wii.
