Hopping from one era to another, blasting wacky enemies and bumping into humour at every turn: this FPS never takes itself seriously, and that's its greatest strength. The multiplayer mode, overflowing with characters and crazy options, turns every match into hilarious chaos. Snappy, generous and utterly unburdened, a treat among friends and a console benchmark of the genre.

Is TimeSplitter - Jikuu no Shinryakusha still worth playing in 2026?

An FPS from Free Radical Design, known in the West as TimeSplitters, this first entry reunites the GoldenEye veterans around a snappy formula travelling through eras, from the Victorian past to the far future, in frantic arcade gunfights. The generosity of split screen multiplayer, the map editor and the offbeat humour make it a fiercely festive vent. The absence of a fleshed out solo mode and a period presentation temper the whole. An excellent arcade FPS for fans of snappy shooting and local multiplayer among friends.
