Sam Fisher infiltrates a criminal organisation, double allegiance and moral dilemmas. Strong story ideas, execution a step behind Chaos Theory and mechanics still solid. Not the peak but an ambitious, different Splinter Cell. Pleasant.

Is Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell - Double Agent still worth playing in 2026?

Released in 2006, this Ubisoft entry pushes Sam Fisher's infiltration towards a moral dilemma, the agent having to earn a terrorist group's trust while serving his agency. Managing shadow, light and noise stays at the heart of the game, and the consequential choices add an unprecedented narrative tension. This GameCube version is technically more modest than its counterparts, yet the spirit remains. Fans of stealth and of Splinter Cell find a tense experience, rewarding patience and discretion.
